My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I am Memento! I was rescued from the side of the freeway with my sister. Our litter had no care taker and no human contact before that day. I took a few months to adjust to life indoors, but with love, patience and the help form a socialized cat, I came around. AND I love it! I am a friendly boy, but can be slow to gain trust at first. Once I trust you, I looooove you! I am great with other cats, I do best with cats older than me and prefer a life with a buddy. My foster has paired me up with a few emotional support friends and that`s when I thrive! I am food motivated, love allll treats and food! I enjoy balls, springs and feather toys. If you sit with me I will stay as close as possible at all time, but may take some time to get on your lap.
You may notice my `lightning streak` on my leg, as a nervous kitten I would overgrown that spot. It is now grown back white, I like to think it gives me confidence now, like a super power!
I am ready for my forever indoor home (ideally with another friendly, socials kitty)!

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
