My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Slater was nicknamed Mr.Grumpy when I first started fostering him because of his initial grumpy appearance! He was extremely shy and timid; however, over the past 4 weeks, he has really opened up and let his personality shine!
Slater is an undercover cuddle bug! Especially in the morning, he would love nothing more than to snuggle close to you and get all the pets in the world. Slater enjoys being around his human companions for as much of the day as possible. He is also very curious; he loves to explore the spaces around him and look out the window to see where all the noises are coming from. He follows my partner and I around the house wherever we go, he might not be a lap cat, but he would enjoy your presence of being in the same room. It's a bonus if you enjoy lying beside him on the floor at the end of the day to wind down (or at any point of the day really)!
Slater is a very sweet cat, but might be a little shy and timid during the initial meetup. But once he opens up, he would want to be wherever you are, not shy of asking for your attention and love!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I have lived with cats in my previous home.

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

A volunteer writes: He might look a little grumpy in his photo, but make no mistake: Slater is a sweet young guy who warms up to people quickly, especially when they make the first move. This gorgeous gray boy came to the Care Center with some of his cat siblings after their person was evicted. Since he's been with us, Slater has been quiet and calm; introduce yourself to him, and he'll engage with you and allow you to treat him to soft, gentle pettings. Slater did well on his behavior exam, deemed to be a great fit for just about any household. So what are you waiting for? Your new BFF and cherished family member is waiting to meet you today!
