My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes: Rasputin is a velvet-pawed gentleman who will steal your heart (very quietly). This stunning white beauty is a professional hide-and-seek champion who starts off as a shadow under the couch, but once he trusts you hes a total love bug! He'll flop over for belly rubs, roll around like a total goof, chatter back at you in the sweetest meows, loves a good brush, and chases wand toys in hilarious circles like a kitten chasing his own tail.
Rasputin dreams of a calm, low-traffic forever home with patient humans who will give him the time he needs to blossom. If you've ever wanted a cat who goes from mysterious Russian mystic to rolling cuddle monster the moment he knows he's safe... Rasputin is waiting to cast his spell on you.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I can go home today!

I have lived with cats in my previous home.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

Rasputin is in the back of his den, laying horizontally and observing the assessor with slightly dilated pupils as the den cover is lifted. When attempting to pet him he flinches on initial contact, allowing all petting but remaining tense, turning his body to face the back wall and avoid contact. He allows light pressure on his abdomen but is not able to be coaxed out of his den, so pickup is unable to be attempted.

Rasputin tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.
