Lucrezia tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

A volunteer writes: Lucrezia tried her luck at finding a forever family and it didn't exactly go as planned. Walking yourself into an apartment and calling it your own isn't always the most effective strategy, and though we'd like to give Lucrezia points for trying and being a self-starter, she isn't really looking for points. She's looking for a family. Lucrezia stepped back when I opened her cubby door before deciding to greet me warmly, and in her own way, with some gentle nuzzles. Sliding her head under my hand as she looked for pets, Lucrezia was explaining that she knows sometimes her words don't always come out the way she wants them to, but she still really hopes someone will take the time to listen. Shelter life isn't easy. There's a lot going on and admittedly Lucrezia sometimes doesn't know how to keep up. She's been tending to keep to herself and could use a friend to help her really come out of her shell.
