My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aloha! I’m Lani, a 9-month-old Shepherd mix with a bright smile, soft fur, and an even softer heart. I’m a gentle, affectionate girl who loves being close to my people; whether we’re going for walks, playing fetch, or just relaxing together. At 9 months old, I’m still a puppy at heart, full of curiosity and a love for life, but I’m also learning quickly and eager to please.

I enjoy meeting new friends (both human and furry!) and have a calm, easygoing nature that makes me a joy to be around. I love being outside! The smell of grass, the feeling of sunshine, and the thrill of exploring new places make my tail wag nonstop. I’d thrive in a home that gives me love, guidance, and plenty of playtime.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will always greet you with happy eyes and a wagging tail, Lani is ready to be your sunshine every day. Adopt me today!

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
