My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner on August 15, 2025..

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet sweet Belladonna, a sociable girl who loves being showered with attention, especially the kind that involves ear scritches and belly rubs. While in our care, she's displayed an easygoing temperament and an ability to make friends with other dogs, as well as people. Belladonna is past her puppy years, but she's still moderately active and enjoys exploring the world on sniff-walks. She'll thrive in a home where she can spend most of the day in the company of her beloved people. Open your heart to this sweetheart and you'll gain a loving companion whose favorite thing in the world is being with you!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
