My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Zezzie was brought in by a community member on 10/23/2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Zezzie is a unique and sensitive dog who has displayed a range of behaviors since entering our care. She may show some fearful hesitation, especially when walking on leash, but with patience and support she has begun to build confidence and has shown positive social behavior, forming trusting relationships with staff. She will thrive in a calm, understanding home that can help him continue progressing at his own pace. Due to her current behavior, Zezzie will need to go to a home with no children under 8 years old. With time, consistency, and a gentle approach, Zezzie has wonderful potential to keep growing and share her affectionate side with the right family.

At SDHS:
Zezzie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Zezzie is now ready for her new home! If you're interested in adopting Zezzie visit our Escondido Campus!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
