My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oliver is a 5-year-old black labrador retriever. He’s a handsome man with a lot of energy and is looking for a home where he can get a lot of physical and mental stimulation. Oliver would love to go for regular walks with his new family and would prefer to be an only pet. He’s housebroken and knows a few basic commands. Oliver can be shy when first greeting new people but will shortly plop onto your lap once he’s comfortable. Don’t be surprised if he picks up a toy to carry around in his mouth. To Oliver, ball is life, and he loves to play fetch and to be outdoors. He’s slowly learning to be comfortable on a leash and is doing great so far. He can be nervous around young children. Older teenagers would be fine. Oliver can’t wait to find his forever home where he can lean in for all the snuggles!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adopting an animal is an exciting and important step for you and your family! Here is a brief outline of what to expect.
1. Come to our shelter and visit with the animals... come as many times as you like... you'll know when you've met "the one!"
2. Meet with an adoption counselor who will work with you to see if the animal you want can fit into your lifestyle, preferences, desires and expectations or if another would be a better match!
3. Complete the adoption paperwork and counseling session (this may take up to 45 minutes, so please be prepared to spend this time with an Adoption Counselor). You may also complete the adoption application online prior to coming to the shelter! Please note the application is an expression of interest and does guarantee animal placement.
4. Take your new best friend home!!
