Everyone meet Glory - she`s a beautiful, seasoned 12YO with some medical complications. She needs to find a rescue or an experienced medical foster to help her ASAP - the shelter is no place for a sweet senior like this.
She came in with a cloudy right eye with possible scratches on the surface of the eye (corneal abrasions), and both eyes show signs of conjunctivitis. She has some hair loss around her chest, under her arms, and on her abdomen, as well as areas of hyperkeratosis. Her most concerning issue, however, is her difficulty breathing, and he makes wheezing sounds when she breathes out, and this issue becomes worse when she`s stressed or walking.
Glory was started on antibiotics and steroids for her respiratory efforts, but unfortunately no improvement has been seen. We did send her for x-rays - it seems her breathing troubles are due to advanced heartworm disease. The x-rays also showed that she`s been shot before - poor Glory has a pellet in her side.
Despite her medical history, Glory has been nothing but calm, sweet, and gentle. Please let us know if you can help this sweet golden girl. She deserves to retire in peace and comfort.
