Dog Name: Henry
Breed: Chi Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 9 Years Old
Weight: 10 lbs
Medical Needs: None
Housebroken: No. He’s spent his life inside a kennel so he’s use to going on puppy pads. We’ve had him out of his kennel and he did pee once but we didn’t have a puppy pad on the floor. He didn’t make a noise or whine that he had to go potty. We think this is because he’s been kept in a kennel.
Crate trained: Yes. he’s very use to the kennel. He’s most comfortable in the kennel.
Good in the car: Yes. We put him in a cat carrier and he was quiet.
Good on a leash: Yes and no. He’s good on the leash and doesn’t pull but he also stays put on the leash. Again, he’s not had interaction with a leash. He just lays down in the yard.
Energy level: Very low key. He shakes when we bring him out of the kennel and when we hold him. He’ll calm down after 5 mins.
.Need a fenced in yard: No.
Dog Friendly: Yes, Henry loves our dogs. His tail starts wagging and the sniffing begins.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No but it might be good if you have one to help bring out Henry’s confidence.
Cat Friendly: Yes. Henry sniffs the cats, the cats sniff him. They will lay down next to Henry. He doesn’t go after them.
Kid Friendly: Unsure because we don’t have kids.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Children should be old enough to know boundaries for pets.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Henry is a sweet, quiet boy who has never been given a chance to be a dog. 9 years of his life contained in a kennel. He would do great with someone that has the patience to get him comfortable, trusting again and loved. He’s given me some kisses since we’ve had him. He’s a gentle old man type of soul. Who knows how long he has left but he deserves a family of his own and to feel safe and loved. He enjoys his showers with me and brushing. He loves treats. He’s just an all around sweet old man. I’ll put him in bed with me with a puppy pad under him and he will shake for a little. I’ll be petting him and talking to him and he calms down. He’ll lay like that for as long as you lay beside him.
