My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet senior gal VIVICA!

VIVICA was a stray dumped at an area in deep south Texas near the Mexican border fighting to survive. She cared for many litters of puppies all unwanted... just like her. She was one of the lucky ones. The overwhelmed shelter took VIVICA in, and was determined to find her a loving family. She spent months waiting in the shelter, which was a miracle in itself. She was originally thought to be older by the shelter than we believe she is.

VIVICA has been nothing but an active, thriving spunky dog. She enjoys play with others. She's great with toddlers to adults. She's wonderful in her home when left alone. She pulls on leash a bit... she likes to go! Great in a car. VIVICA loves her treats and her cuddles. She's a great overall companion. We suspect Vivica is close to 8....but no known health issues.

VIVICA was heartworm positive. She has since received treatment and is healthy and ready to go!

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
