Update Jan. 15 from Hector’s foster mom: You won’t find a more wonderful feline companion than Hector. This affectionate boy is gentle and friendly with other cats, but his main love is his special person. At my home, Hector enjoys curling up on my lap. Occasionally, he sits up, gazes at me and then softly brushes his face along my cheek. It didn’t take me long to fall for this loving, gorgeous kitty! Hector is calm and confident. He adapted quickly after arriving at my house. Such easy company this contented boy is! Hector will surely love you and become a cherished member of your family.
Hector:
The Guardian with a Gentle Heart.
Hector is a large, handsome 2–3-year-old brown tabby whose courage and loyalty carried his little family through the hardest months of their lives. As the fall winds grew colder and the nights turned harsh, Hector stayed close to his mate, Calliope (adopted) and their four kittens, huddled together in a box tucked beneath a table on a porch. While Calliope comforted the babies, Hector kept quiet watch—always nearby, always ready, always making sure his family was safe.
When the resident of the home discovered the kittens and brought them inside to protect them from the cold, Hector never left the porch. His family was there, and that was where he needed to be. Forgotten Cats stepped in when no one else did, rescuing the entire family and giving them the safety they had been fighting for.
Life on the streets left Hector with FIV+, but it did not take away his sweetness. With the battles behind him and no reason to fight anymore, this once-weathered tom has revealed a deeply affectionate, gentle soul. He greets kindness with gratitude, warmth, and the quiet strength of a cat who has known hardship—and chosen love instead.
Hector deserves a home where he can finally relax, stretch out in the warmth he never had, and be cherished for the devoted, noble-hearted companion he is.
A protector.
A survivor.
A gentle giant ready for his forever family.
