My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog`s adoption fee has been generously sponsored!

This pretty girl lives up to her name, with many small speckles and one big spot! Speckle is a sweet and shy dog that will need the magic formula: time, patience, + TLC. Coming from Fresno Animal Center into the concrete jungle of San Francisco, we ensure Speckle is gaining confidence by letting her learn at her own pace and never forcing her into an interaction, or to walk with us this direction or that direction.

Speckle says, `Street noises are scary.` We agree! High-value treats like fresh boiled chicken really help teach her that she can do anything she sets her mind to. Either way, we think she`s going to blossom into a loving and affectionate companion -- she just needs to get out of the shelter environment! Do you have the capacity to care for this sweet wallflower who is yet to bloom? Speckle is ready to find her home.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
