My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mond — Your Sweet, Gentle Jindo Mix Puppy! Currently in Toronto

Name: Mond

Age: 8 months

Sex: Neutered Male

Breed: Jindo Mix

Color: Brown

Weight: 23.8kg

Height (shoulder): 58cm

Personality & People Socialization

Mond is a social, affectionate, and people-loving pup! He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, rubs his body to them, and allows petting easily. If you have treats, he’ll sit politely in front of you and wait with the sweetest eyes.

He’s still very much a puppy—playful, goofy, and incredibly attached to his foster mom (a true velcro boy!).

He has not met children under 13 yet, but he allows being picked up with arms under his belly and likes showing his tummy once he’s bonded with you.

Dog Socialization

Mond is friendly and confident when meeting other dogs.

He loves greeting both familiar and new dogs and enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes—bigger dogs, same-sized dogs, and even smaller ones.

He has a playful, easygoing nature and gets along well with high-energy dogs too. If another dog tries to provoke him, he usually chooses to avoid conflict.

Cats

Outdoors, Mond shows curiosity when he sees cats or birds.

During a cat test with a household cat, he calmly approached and sniffed politely. Cat test passed.

Energy Level

Moderate.

He enjoys outdoor activities, playtime, and sniffing adventures, but he settles down well afterward.

Mond loves his naps!

Walks

He can pull on the leash at times, but he generally follows his handler well.

His foster has been practicing “check-in walking” (maintaining eye contact with treats), and he is learning nicely.

He tends to focus on sniffing—stopping, walking, sniffing, stopping—so he benefits from continued structured walk training.

Overall: smart, trainable, and improving every day!

Additional Behaviors

• No resource guarding toward people

• May growl if another dog approaches his food, but has never fought

• Rarely barks, except at night when startled by loud noises or unfamiliar objects

• Excellent in the kennel; settles quietly

• Jumps into and out of the car on his own and loves car rides

• Currently pottying outdoors

• Has mild separation anxiety — he may whine initially when left alone but settles after a short while. He’s trying so hard to be brave, and with patience, consistency, and bonding, he improves continuously.

Mond is a sweet, eager-to-learn boy who shines with gentle guidance and steady routines. With a patient family who can teach, reassure, and love him, he will flourish beautifully.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
