My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mond

Age: 4 months

Weight: 12.2kg

Height: 40cm (shoulder height)

Breed: Jindo mix

Color: Brown

Male (Not neutered yet)

‍‍ With People

Mond is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves to approach people, both familiar and new, rubbing up against them and enjoying pets. While he may be slightly shy in unfamiliar places at first, he adjusts quickly and becomes friendly in no time. He hasn’t had direct experience with children under 13, but due to his gentle nature, we believe he would do well with them. He’s comfortable being lifted and often shows his belly once he’s bonded with someone.

With Dogs

Mond lives with other dogs in his foster home and gets along very well with everyone. He enjoys playing and will happily greet unfamiliar dogs too. Whether the dog is bigger, smaller, or the same size, Mond is friendly and playful. He currently attends doggy daycare and has no issues with other dogs.

With Cats & Other Animals

Mond has met a cat before and showed curiosity without chasing or bothering it—he simply observed from a respectful distance. When he sees birds, he’ll sit and watch them quietly. If they fly off, he might hop along excitedly, but more out of playful instinct than real chase—he’s still a baby and never catches up!

Energy Level

Mond has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor play and activities but also knows how to rest calmly afterward. After active outings, he often falls asleep as soon as he gets into the car.

Walks & Leash Training

Mond is experienced with walks and generally does well on a leash. He may pull occasionally but is mostly attentive to his handler. He loves to sniff around, so his walks can involve frequent pauses as he explores the scents around him.

Other Notes

Mond shows no signs of food aggression toward people or other dogs. While he doesn’t show strong signs of separation anxiety now, he’s always lived with other dogs, so he may experience some stress when left completely alone. He may whine or show anxiety at first but tends to settle down shortly after. His trainer noted that while Mond does show some separation anxiety, he also shows effort to cope and self-soothe. With patience, guidance, and love, he will continue to thrive.

He is currently trained to use pee pads indoors and also goes potty outdoors.

Rescue Story

Mond was born in a city shelter after his mother was brought in. Thankfully, both mom and puppies were rescued together.

Mond is a bright, lovable pup who bonds deeply and learns with encouragement. He’ll be a wonderful companion to a family who can continue giving him support and love.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
