Nala is a 1-year-old shepherd mix with a heart as big as her story. She was found in a forest riverbed in Salem, Missouri, bravely caring for her nine newborn puppies. Thanks to rescue, this devoted mama and her little family were brought to safety. Four of her pups have already found loving homes — and now Nala and her five remaining babies are still waiting for theirs!
Nala is currently in Missouri but can catch a ride up here once she has an adopter. She’s been fostered with cats, dogs, and kids and gets along beautifully with everyone. She has wonderful house manners and already knows sit, down, and shake.
Gentle, affectionate, and loyal, Nala is ready to trade her days of survival for a cozy home and a family who adores her. She truly deserves the happy ending she worked so hard for.

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.
Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
