My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member on October 25, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Wisconsin is not from Wisconsin. She is a native Californian who is just starting her big girl life. She has a bit of a hang dog look with her floppy ears and downcast eyes. She is not sure about this shelter thing but she is darn sure that she wants a new home and family. She is somewhere between still being a puppy and becoming an adolescent. She hopes that her new family understands that means she will want to be trained to be a respectful and gentle adult. She hopes her new family understands that she still has puppy energy and adolescent exuberance. She says that she will be quick to accept positive reinforcement training and boundaries because she wants to be some family's good dog. She has been under treatment for intestinal issues and we can talk to you about continued treatment if it is necessary. Do you want to take a youngster and make her into a responsible adult? Wisconsin is ready and he would not mind staying in California and getting a new name.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
