My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Marley was brought in by a community member on November 13, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Marley, the goodest of good boys with soulful eyes that can melt you in an instant-this charming, wiggly, well-rounded sweetheart is bursting with happy-go-lucky energy and ready to pour every ounce of it into his new family. He's the kind of dog who greets each morning like it's the best day ever, tail wagging, smile shining, and heart wide open. Marley is all about adventure and affection: long walks where he can sniff every interesting scent, quality time curled up beside you, and joyful moments spent simply being together. He lives for human connection and will follow your lead whether you're exploring new trails, hitting the backyard for playtime, or settling in for a cozy evening. He can be a bit jumpy and impulsive at times, so a family ready to guide him with patience and positive reinforcement will help him shine his brightest. Because of his enthusiasm, he would do best in a home with no kiddos under 6. If you're searching for a loyal, enthusiastic, endlessly affectionate companion who will meet you at the door like you're the highlight of his world, Marley is your guy-bring a leash and collar when you come to meet him, because your new best friend is already waiting and can't wait to go home with you!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
