My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Trigger was brought in by a Humane Law Enforcement on November 7, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Trigger, a distinguished senior pup with soft eyes and a greying muzzle that will melt your heart. This gentle senior has perfected the art of taking it easy - he's mellow, sweet-natured, and always ready for a leisurely stroll around the block. Trigger loves his walks and will happily accompany you wherever you go, wagging his tail the entire way. He's the kind of dog who thrives on quiet companionship and simple joys - a cozy nap by your side, a few gentle ear scratches, and the comfort of being near his people. Trigger doesn't seem to love being left entirely alone, and is looking for a home with another dog that can keep him company. If you're looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will fill your home with calm and affection, Trigger may be the perfect match. He's ready to enjoy his golden years in a caring home where he can be cherished for the wonderful dog he is.

At SDHS:
Trigger has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Trigger is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
