Meet Samuel! A 77lb, 18-month-old, APBT mix with a short, stocky build, a big-dude presence, and a big happy heart. He’s as friendly as they come with people, always ready to greet you with bright eyes and a wagging tail. Playtime is Samuel’s favorite. Give him a toy and he’ll happily entertain himself (and you!) with his goofy, enthusiastic antics. Whether he’s tossing a squeaky toy around or proudly carrying his favorite ball, Samuel’s playful energy is contagious. He’s a perfect gentleman when it comes to snacks, taking treats with the softest, cutest little nibble. When it comes to other dogs, he’s more of a polite observer—curious, calm, and happy to coexist. He even met cats at the shelter and didn’t seem bothered by them at all. Our adoption fee is $150.00 for dogs, $75 for kittens under 6 months of age and $50 for all cats 6 months and older. This will include a rabies vaccination (if age appropriate), spay or neuter, a microchip with registration, and all other age appropriate vaccinations.

We are the all admittance shelter in Johnson County, we are not a 501c3, but a county run facility. We try our best to place each and every animal. We also house all animals picked up by Animal Control therefore; we intake a high volume of animals each year.
