My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What makes me so special?

Im special because my mom says I'm so smart and handsome

Hi my name is Huckleberry, but my mom calls me Finn. I really like my name.  I also love to play with toys, give love and my pay.  Sometimes both paws! Im a very good boy. My favorite things are balls of any kind, anything I can defluff and snacks! I loooove snacks.  Peanut butter is my favorite thing right now!  I always make sure to clean my dinner bowl like a goodboy too.

I love to play outside in the grass. I really like rolling around when its wet too.  I also love to sunbathe.

Im a very good sleeper in my bed next to yours. I have my own bed and blankie and I really like being covered and told goodnight with a kiss.  I'll grunt when youre not paying attention to me just so you don't forget I'm here.  Once I'm really comfortable, I'll sit next to you on the couch.

I don't mind other dogs but introduce me slowly I get a little nervous.  Then I don't mind them.  I don't bother anyone and I just want to be the best boy for you.

The Basics

Age: 3-5 years

Weight: 26

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Microchipped: Yes

Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes

On Flea/Tick Prevention: (If no, this line can be deleted.)

House-Trained: yes

Crate-Trained: yes

Leash Skills:Yes, some pulling but over all good just excited.

Medical: Eye drops

Likes/Dislikes

Toys: loves all toys. Esp Kong jumblers of any kind (large or xl size) anything squeaky is also a plus but hes strong so make sure its tough.

Other Animals: indifferent to other dogs right now. Doesn't bother anyone.  Doesn't like others near his face. Seems to prefer dogs of his size rather than large we one. Would do well as only dog.

People/Kids: loves his mamma. Not the vet but does ok with encouragement.  Kids unknown. Maybe older children would be best. Once you have his trust he seems to be ok.  I haven't had any issues other than a little grumble the first night.  Just needed some reassurance that he was ok.

Car Rides: perfect.

Separation: none. Give an activity before leaving though he looks forward to that (toppl, cheese yeti, etc.)

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
