My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scooby — A Fluffy Senior Sweetheart Learning to Love Again ❤️

Scooby is an 11-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix with a wonderfully soft, fluffy coat and an incredibly gentle soul. He spent his entire life in a home with many other dogs, and when everything suddenly changed, Scooby found himself terrified, confused, and without the comfort of the only world he had ever known.

At the shelter, he was tossed into a kennel, evaluated by strangers, and left completely abandoned. Feeling overwhelmed and trapped, Scooby did what frightened dogs often do—he barked, cowered, trembled, and hid in the corner of his “room,” hoping the unfamiliar people would go away and let him feel safe again.

Because of his fear, others passed him by.
But Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows did not.
We stepped in and brought Scooby—and his extended family—into safety and understanding.

Now, Scooby is blossoming beautifully in his foster home. He enjoys being petted, cuddled, and held, and he’s beginning to realize that gentle hands and soft voices mean love, not fear. This sweet senior boy still has so much life, affection, and heart to share.

Scooby will thrive with an adopter who understands that trust takes time. Give him patience, space, and kindness, and he will reward you with loyalty, warmth, and a loving companionship that only a senior dog can give.

He is current on vaccinations and microchipped, and yes… Scooby really was his name! 🥰
