My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ipo, the delightful blend of Chihuahua and Pit Bull Terrier who is ready to steal your heart! 🎉 At just 2 years and 9 months old, this lovely lady weighs in at a cuddly 25 pounds of pure joy. Born on February 8, 2023, she’s a delightful little Aquarius, known for their friendly and quirky spirit—just like Ipo! 🌟

Ipo is spayed, microchipped, and is on the lookout for a forever home after her family had to make an unexpected move. Can you imagine this sweet girl, with her gentle demeanor and playful heart, being part of your life? She’s a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, having been raised alongside a Chihuahua. In fact, she’s even formed a fun friendship with a rooster! 🐔 How’s that for a unique bond?

This sweet girl loves to play fetch and doesn’t mind being pampered like a little lap dog. She’s got a heart of gold, only barking when strangers come around or when she needs to let you know it’s potty time. Ipo is still learning leash manners, but nothing excites her more than a good walk! 🚶‍♀️ Just a heads up—she can get a little car sick, so maybe keep the rides short and sweet.

Ipo is a curious, clingy, and sometimes goofy companion who thrives on love and attention. She’s looking for someone who enjoys spending quality time with their pup and doesn’t mind having a loyal shadow by their side. If you’re ready to welcome this playful spirit into your home, Ipo would make an easy and loving addition to any family. ❤️

Currently, she’s hanging out in the Ainaloa area, eagerly awaiting her forever family. If you think you could be the one to give her the loving home she deserves, don’t wait! Your new best friend is just one click away. 🐾 Apply for the pet here: https://tinyurl.com/38mne6vp

More about this rescue

Big Island Dogs Rehoming and Resources Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based on Hawaiʻi Island. We are a dedicated dog rescue charity committed to giving every dog the second chance they deserve. We rescue abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs, providing them with essential medical care, safe shelter, and the unconditional love they’ve been missing, as well as assist the community in various needs such as rehoming, transportation to clinics and education.

We are holistically minded, believing that a dog’s well-being goes far beyond basic care. Our approach supports the whole animal....body, mind, and spirit, so every dog has the opportunity to heal fully and thrive.

In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, we provide education and resources to help people support their dogs in living healthier, happier lives. From guidance on nutrition and natural wellness to tools that promote a robust immune system, we empower owners with knowledge that can make a lifelong difference.

Through fostering, adoption, outreach, and community programs, we strive to build a world where every dog is cared for compassionately and holistically. Every donation, volunteer effort, and act of kindness helps transform a dog’s life and strengthens the human-animal bond along the way.
