My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bailey – Your Beach Buddy & Fetch Champion! 🌊🎾

Looking for a loyal, hilarious, high-energy sidekick? Look no further than Bailey! This delightful 3-year-old, 55-pound spayed female Pit Bull Terrier mix is ready to wiggle her way into your heart and home. She’s not just a pretty face; she’s microchipped, vaccinated, and fully prepared to embark on countless adventures with you.

Currently residing in Kona Palisades with her fabulous foster, Bailey has earned her PhD in Playtime! She is amazing with people, kids, and her fellow four-legged pals — basically, everyone with two legs or four. 🐾 (Well… maybe not chickens or cats; she thinks they’re part of her cardio routine! But don't worry, she’s all bark and no bite!)

This talented gal is a pro at commands like sit, stay, come, leave it, and shake. She even spins in circles just for fun! 🎉 If you’re seeking the ultimate adventure buddy, Bailey is your girl. She’s all about beach days, fetch marathons, and full-throttle zoomies. 🏖️💨

Now, Bailey does get a bit anxious when left alone — she takes the phrase “missing you” to Olympic levels! So, she’ll thrive with someone who’s home often, has another dog for company, or can include her in their daily fun. Crates or a secure kennel work wonders for her when you have to step out.

With a heart as big as her smile, Bailey is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and the occasional sand-covered tennis ball. Adopt Bailey today — she’s guaranteed to bring joy and excitement into your life! 🥳

*The adoption process can be completed in person, so come meet Bailey and see if she’s the perfect fit for your family!* Apply for the pet here: https://tinyurl.com/3jkpv9w4

More about this rescue

Big Island Dogs Rehoming and Resources Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based on Hawaiʻi Island. We are a dedicated dog rescue charity committed to giving every dog the second chance they deserve. We rescue abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs, providing them with essential medical care, safe shelter, and the unconditional love they’ve been missing, as well as assist the community in various needs such as rehoming, transportation to clinics and education.

We are holistically minded, believing that a dog’s well-being goes far beyond basic care. Our approach supports the whole animal....body, mind, and spirit, so every dog has the opportunity to heal fully and thrive.

In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, we provide education and resources to help people support their dogs in living healthier, happier lives. From guidance on nutrition and natural wellness to tools that promote a robust immune system, we empower owners with knowledge that can make a lifelong difference.

Through fostering, adoption, outreach, and community programs, we strive to build a world where every dog is cared for compassionately and holistically. Every donation, volunteer effort, and act of kindness helps transform a dog’s life and strengthens the human-animal bond along the way.
