Meet Cookie! A 47lb, 4-year-old, APBT mix who is as loving as her name suggests. She came to us after been found in a crate on the side of the road, scared and unsure of the world around her. At first, she was timid in the shelter, but with time, patience, and kindness, Cookie has blossomed. Now she lights up when she sees people she trusts and absolutely soaks up human affection. She adores people and never misses a chance to lean in for affection or wag her tail hello. She’s seemed to enjoy spending time around other dogs at the shelter and hasn’t shown any signs of aggression—just curiosity and calm interest. This resilient girl is ready to leave her difficult past behind and join a loving home where she can continue to grow and feel safe. Our adoption fee is $150.00 for dogs, $75 for kittens under 6 months of age and $50 for all cats 6 months and older. This will include a rabies vaccination (if age appropriate), spay or neuter, a microchip with registration, and all other age appropriate vaccinations.

We are the all admittance shelter in Johnson County, we are not a 501c3, but a county run facility. We try our best to place each and every animal. We also house all animals picked up by Animal Control therefore; we intake a high volume of animals each year.
