My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Salem, Ohio

4 month old female

Mother was Border Collie/ Cattle Dog cross
Father unknown!

Freda needs a playmate! Her littermates are being adopted and she’s going to be left all alone. And she so loves to wrestle with another playful dog or run after an active human. Se has been well socialized with people of all ages. She absolutely loves kids! Freda also has been around lots of older dogs and she just wants to play. It doesn’t take long tho before she’s ready to cuddle up next to her person and take a nap. She loves cuddles. Freda has also been around horses, cats and chickens. She has no idea that the horses are so big! No fear whatsoever! She just thinks cats should play with her too. She will chase them but if they don’t run, they are no fun so she leaves them alone. Although I believe she thinks she is playing, chickens would not be safe.
She will be quiet all night in a crate but needs to go outside bright & early!

She is current on age appropriate vaccines, wormed, on heartworm prevention and gets flea & tick prevention every month. Freda is fostered in Salem Ohio thru ACDRA. If you would like more information, email Janemalmsberry@aol.com or submit an application to

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
