Ivy came to us as owner surrender as one of the kids in the family was allergic to her. She appears to be a schnauzer mix of some type and kind of resembles a scruffy muppet. She is about 2 to 3 years old. She has been vet checked and spayed and her fee is $150.
Ivy can be a little reserved upon first meeting. She is generally a happy and playful gal who needs some good exercise. She does get excited and happy when she sees a leash and loves to go for walks. She's affectionate and loving once she's comfortable and secure. Ivy did live with older kids and cats and has done okay with other smaller dogs. She would prefer a calmer environment without a lot of foot traffic as she does get a little protective. She does need a bit of basic training.
NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.
We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
