My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This one has been a long time coming! Bobo, a 3 year old Jack Russell terrier, arrived at our shelter as an owner surrender in June 2024. He was surrendered as his older owners couldn't handle his terrier energy and personality quirks. Bobo is, to put it nicely, a loveable brat. We have had quite the journey with this pint-sized whirlwind and it has been both fun and frustrating. We think he is finally ready to move into a real home, hopefully with someone who has a really good sense of humor and is experienced with dogs like him. Bo-man is fully vetted and his fee is $125.

He will test your patience and do it with a smile on his face and no regrets. He is incredibly smart and will use it to his full advantage. He does know some basic commands and sometimes chooses to respond to them. He is active, fun loving, and enjoys a good game of fetch, although he sometimes chooses not to give up the toy. He does walk pretty well on a leash but does need to remember that it's not a tug or chew toy. He acts like a tough guy but secretly craves attention and love. He loves affection once he has sized someone up and deems them "okay".

He's needing an experienced, ADULT only home with a fenced yard. We do want him to be the only pet in the home as he needs to adjust to homelife again. He'll need a lot of patience and time. Did we mention a good sense of humor is definitely required?

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
