Meet Butterfly Bow, a joyful bundle of energy with a heart full of cuddles who loves zooming through agility courses, tossing her favorite toys, and snuggling close for all the pets and belly rubs she can get. She is pure heart—adoring leaning in for pets, curling up beside you, and sharing every bit of snuggles she can muster. Affectionate and playful, she will happily wag her tail with joy when given a good booty scratch.
Butterfly Bow is a quick study with a gentle, loving personality—she already knows “sit,” loves earning treats (especially crunchy carrots!), and appears to be housebroken at the shelter. She walks well on leash and, while she may get a little excited by squirrels at first, she quickly settles and refocuses on you, showing steady progress with her leash manners. A playful girl at heart, she loves her toys, playing tug, and chasing after a ball for some fetch time. She also has a blast on the agility equipment.
Butterfly Bow has been a total superstar on her Dog’s Day Out adventures, and it’s easy to see why everyone falls for her. She is calm and relaxed in the car and handles outings like a pro. She’s enjoyed everything from city strolls to hikes through multiple parks and even a nature preserve. Butterfly Bow loves to sniff, explore, and take in the world around her. She can start out with a bit of excited energy, but once she gets that out, she settles into being a very nice, easy walker.
She’s made such a great impression that she’s been invited back to several volunteers’ homes afterwards, where she proved herself to be an affectionate, snuggly couch companion - a true giant lap dog who simply wants to be by your side. She’s full of love, gives plenty of kisses, and has a way of stealing hearts almost instantly. One especially happy highlight? Getting a pup cup, which clearly made her day. At the end of it all, Butterfly Bow is simply a sweet, friendly girl who loves cuddling on the couch after a day of fun and exploration. She’s the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cozy best friend.
Butterfly Bow has met other dog pals at BARCS, and she is social and rowdy with her friends. She may need to meet any doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.

When you arrive, you will first be asked to fill out our Shelter Adoption Application with your information. You may also pre-fill our Shelter Adoption Application ahead of time online to save time when you are at the shelter. Your application will be processed after you meet the animal.
Step 3: Tour our adoption rooms and write down the names of animals that you would like to meet. A volunteer or staff member will help you meet your chosen animals to make a match!
Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.
What else to expect: Animals who are already spayed/neutered and past their stray hold (if applicable) can often go home with you the same day. Pick-up arrangements for unaltered animals and/or animals still on a stray hold will be made during your adoption class.
