Hi there, friends, I’m Woobie! What’s a Woobie? It’s me, of course. A woobie is also a name for something people might call a security blanket. I guess it makes people feel comfortable and safe. I sure hope that’s what I do, too.
I know what it’s like not to feel settled, because I was running the streets for a long time. This whole idea you call “home” is much nicer than that was. I am really well behaved in the house, so you’ll be glad to have me home too.
I like all the people, even those small ones you call kids, and everyone always tells me that I’m a good boy. I sure like to hear that. Even better, I like it if you pet me. If you don’t think of that idea, I’ll be happy to remind you that I’m there for petting.
I like other dogs, and we can play together and even snuggle together. But I don’t need to live with another dog; I’d be just as happy by myself – and with you, of course.
My favorite place is the end of the couch. It’s so comfortable and soft, and you can just rest your bones there so nicely…zzzzzzz. Oops, I think I dozed off there! I like to be in that spot, and my foster mom calls me Sheldon. I don’t get it, that’s just my spot. And my name is Woobie, not Sheldon, silly foster mom.
Do you have a nice spot on your couch, too, where you could put a Woobie? Then you should bring me home.
Woobie is approximately 4 years old and weighs just under 70 pounds. He could be a Doberman mix or a Coonhound mix, or some of both? We’re not sure. But he is a great guy, that we are 100% sure of!
Woobie is house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He’ll come to you current on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. His adoption fee is $175. Apply to adopt him at PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

Where are you located?
Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them.
What are your hours?
As a foster based rescue, every person with Pawsitive Tails is a volunteer. Because we do not have a facility, we do not have “open” hours but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm.
Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies?
No. We require an approved application to be on file before meeting our dogs/puppies. In addition, our dogs live in foster homes, so we must work around the foster parents’ schedule.
