She may be shy when you first meet her, but offer her a few treats and a little patience, and you’ll quickly see her warm, affectionate side shine through. Once she feels safe, Penny loves to cuddle and stay close to her people. She’s looking for a home where she can blossom into her true self—one where she can be both a devoted snuggle buddy and a joyful adventure partner to someone who sees just how special she is.

The Chickasha Animal Shelter is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Chickasha, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Chickasha and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public Spay and neuter program with OkHumane, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
