Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Canada Dry— Hoping for a Forever Home by Christmas!
Say hello to Canada Dry, a 12-week-old mix breed puppy with a personality as bright as her sweet little eyes. She’s the perfect combination of sweet, sassy, curious, and full of joyful puppy energy—a tiny spark with a heart made for loving.
Canada Dry and her five siblings were rescued from a Texas shelter along with their wonderful momma. She loves all the dogs and people she has met so far, but she has not met cats or small children. Canada Dry will likely grow into a medium to large-sized dog.
All About Canada Dry:
• Loves her people and enjoys snuggling just as much as playtime
• Currently working on potty training and learning quickly
• Sleeps comfortably in a crate through the night
• Learning basic commands and eager to please
• Curious, playful, and always ready to explore. She is not too nippy or jumpy and takes redirection well.
With her lively spirit and affectionate nature, Canada Dry would thrive in a home that offers love, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for adventure. She would love another dog in her new home. She’s already showing how smart she is and will grow into a loyal, joyful companion with continued guidance.
This holiday season, Canada Dry has one simple wish: A cozy home, a warm bed, and a family to call her own.
If you’re looking for a puppy to grow with, learn with, and love forever, Canada Dry may be the perfect match.
Help make Canada Dry’s first Christmas the beginning of her forever story. Reach out to meet her today!
Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping.
In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process.
If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application.
Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed.
Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.

More about this rescue
We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.
The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.
Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.
While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.
We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
