Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Fanta, a tender-hearted little pup with a big future ahead of him
At just 12 weeks old, this mix breed boy is the perfect blend of playful energy and gentle, loving affection. Fanta was rescued from a Texas shelter along with his five siblings and devoted momma. Fanta will likely grow into a medium to large dog—just the right size for adventures and couch cuddles.
Fanta is already showing how smart and eager to learn he is. He’s doing well sleeping in his crate, learning basic commands, and practicing walking on a leash. He is not “bitey” or too jumpy. He’s curious about the world and loves exploring, but he’s just as happy to curl up next to you when playtime winds down.
This very sweet boy gets along wonderfully with everyone he’s met—both people and other dogs—and his soft, affectionate spirit makes him easy to love. He has not met cats or small children. His fun-loving personality brings smiles wherever he goes.
Fanta’s biggest wish is to spend his first Christmas with a forever family who will guide him, love him, and make him part of their life.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a sweet, spirited heart, Fanta may be the perfect match.
Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping.
In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process.
If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application.
Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed.
Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.

More about this rescue
We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.
The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.
Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.
While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.
We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
