Skylar Tapsy arrived at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility in late August as a stray, identified only by her microchip. Although the shelter reached out to her listed owner, no one came forward to reclaim her. Thankfully, this sweet 11-year-old girl soon was chosen to by a caring foster family. Now a Frosted Face, 65 lb. Skylar is staying in her foster home while she awaits her forever home. Could that be with you?
Skylar is an amazing girl - sweet, loving, smart, and eager to please. She knows sit, lay down, stay, and paw. “Paw” has become her special cue for getting up onto things—she’ll place her front paws where you ask, and her foster mom gives her a gentle boost for the rest. She is also fully potty-trained and will politely let you know she needs to go out by standing at the door.
Skylar loves all humans and is always excited to meet new friends. She also does well with cats and dogs of all sizes. All the neighborhood dogs are her buddies, and she eagerly scans the block on walks hoping to greet them. She’s had playdates, and a day at Dog Beach is an upcoming new adventure.
Skylar's favorite part of the day is a car ride to the park. She rides nicely in the car and enjoys having the windows down so she can feel the breeze on her face. At the park, she is on a mission of locating every squirrel! Afterward, it’s treat time (pup cups are a favorite!) and then a long nap while her foster mom is out. Skylar is a perfect angel while home alone.
Skylar usually goes to bed first and gives her foster mom “the look” until she joins her. She sleeps through the night, no doubt dreaming of her forever home!
