My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A berry good girl just told us she’s in the market for a sweet new home. Well, her name is Strawberry, but you can go ahead and just call her yours. She is currently 5.5 months old, and we think she may be a German Shepherd / Australian Kelpie mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! Either way, this girl is 50% cutie pie and 50% coming home with you. This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place.

Watch Strawberry’s video here and prepare yourself for the heart melting to start.

Strawberry Drizzle is currently in a loving foster home and loves to play and take lots of naps! Eat, sleep, play, repeat. Strawberry is living her best puppy life right now - all she needs is YOU!

Strawberry Drizzle is as sweet as her name and twice as fun! She loves to play, tumble with her siblings, and then curl up for belly rubs. Strawberry is known as the mischievous and right amount of energetic of her three siblings. Best part— strawberry even loves the water! She can splish splash all day in the kiddie pool with her siblings. Even better, she loves playing in the pool with the kiddos. She doesn’t mind them drying her off with towels after a fun day in the sun. She just wants to be held by her tiny human friends most of all. Her friendliness goes beyond the bounds of just kiddos, she is always the welcoming committee at the front door when guests arrive, soaking up all of the attention she can get. This affectionate, playful pup is ready to bring endless joy to a lucky family.

Strawberry is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to continue to crate train their new puppy. She is very smart and takes corrections well, leading us to believe she is the type of girl who is easily trainable. In her foster home, she goes on daily morning walks— perfecting her leash skills for her new family. She is already fully crate trained, sleeping soundly with her siblings at night. As if she couldn’t get any better, she’s a passenger princess in the car. She just lays down like the very good girl she is!

Strawberry is very well socialized with her siblings and is dog friendly. We believe she would do best in a home with another pup to show her the ropes, but the potential to be your one and only is still there! Strawberry lives with two indoor/ outdoor cats. She is very much the “no thanks! I’ll go this way and you go that way!” When it comes to feline friends. Don’t worry, this is a good thing! It means she is able to live with cats in the home without bothering them.

You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend!

Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
