My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sweetie, the goofy Boxer girl who took one look at the world and decided her life mission was maximum wiggles, maximum snuggles, all the time.

Sweetie lives up to her name in every possible way. If you sit down, she will attempt to wedge herself between your legs like she’s returning to her natural habitat. Personal space? Never heard of it. She believes her rightful position is: insert Boxer here.

This lovable noodle of a dog adores people, thrives on affection, and thinks every human is just a new friend who hasn’t been properly snuggled yet. She’s also a social butterfly with other dogs — playful, silly, and always up for a good romp before her next cuddle attempt.

If you’re searching for a goofy, wiggly, velcro-style best friend who will love you with her whole heart (and her whole body… very close to yours), Sweetie is your girl. 🐾❤️

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
