My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ Meet Poppy! ✨
This little sweetheart is estimated to be about 1.5 years old, and she’s as charming as can be. Poppy is a long-haired Chihuahua with a beautiful red coat that glows just as brightly as her personality.

She’s a gentle girl who interacts wonderfully with other dogs and loves affection from her people. Poppy came to us as a stray, so her past is a mystery—but her future is looking bright. 💛

She’s currently being treated for a mild eye infection, and she’s already on the mend. With a little TLC, she’ll be fully back to her adorable self in no time.

If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly, and gorgeous little companion, Poppy is ready to steal your heart. 🐾💕

More about this rescue

The mission of the Raise the Bar-N Foundation is to rescue, care for, and provide compassion to abused and neglected animals, educate the community about responsible pet ownership, and provide opportunities to children and adults with disabilities. We strive to give the voiceless a voice.

My husband and I have been rescuing for years. We also do a great deal with the autism/special needs community. We are hoping to save more animals and help build bonds between animals and children with disabilities. My husband is a firefighter and ex-professional hockey player. I am an expert working with children with disabilities, especially autism. I am passionate about giving the voiceless a "voice".
