Some of our staff and volunteers were at Chicago Animal Care and Control doing enrichment activities when an owner came in to surrender Florio and his companion, John Cena. Their little feet never hit the CACC floor, because we brought them right to Heartland!
Poor Florio had mats in his fur everywhere. It was obvious he hadn't been given the best start in life, but now that he's a Heartland dog, he's groomed, vetted, and getting all the enrichment and care he needs and deserves!
Florio is still adjusting and decompressing, so he can be shy with new people. Once he becomes comfortable with someone, he loves to cuddle up, go on walks, and play with toys. He seems to have recently learned he loves belly rubs as well!
He is definitely the more outgoing of the two boys, and greets most people with tail wags and is happy to be leashed up to go for a walk!
If you are willing to give Florio the time, consistency, and positive reinforcement he needs, you will be rewarded with that smile that shows how ready he is to leave neglect behind and be adored forever!
Florio's adoption fee is $375. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
