My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Opal — or “Opie,” as her friends call her!
This sweet pup, one of five siblings, has already shown more bravery in her young life than most dogs ever need to. Opal arrived at the shelter severely underweight and very sick, but with love, vet care, and her own incredible spirit, she has blossomed into a healthy, confident, and wonderfully goofy little girl.

Opie is now all puppy — learning her manners, discovering toys, and perfecting the art of the silly zoomies. She’s curious, bright, and loves making people smile with her playful antics. Despite her rough start, she approaches life with optimism and a big, open heart.

She will thrive in a caring, patient home that can continue teaching her the ropes, celebrate her wins, and give her the steady love she’s never had before. In return, Opal will shower you with loyalty, laughter, and the joy of watching a once-fragile pup grow into her happiest, strongest self.

If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate, and fun-loving companion, Opal is ready to shine in your life.

Additional adoption info

*Please note that walk-in appointments are welcomed and encouraged, and will be prioritized over online applications.

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your environment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
