Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hershey – a 3.5-year-old, 42-pound spayed female Pit Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix with a heart as sweet as her name!
Currently in a loving foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS, Hershey is ready to transport out of state once her perfect match is approved.
Hershey may be pint-sized, but she’s got a big personality and even bigger love to give. She was found wandering the streets of Houston until her amazing foster stepped in and gave her a safe place to land. Since then, she’s blossomed into a loyal, affectionate, and easygoing companion who’s ready for a forever home of her own.
This low-rider cuddle bug absolutely adores her people—she’s happiest when she’s curled up next to you on the couch or following you from room to room. She’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply with her humans and thrives in a home where she can be part of the family’s daily life.
Hershey is fully housebroken and does well in her crate. She’s great on a leash, walks calmly, and loves getting out to sniff and explore the neighborhood. While she may be short in stature, she carries herself with confidence and will let you know if someone’s at the door—her little bark is all part of her charm!
She’s playful, curious, and loves a good case of the zoomies, especially in a yard where she can run off some energy. While she’s generally mellow indoors, she enjoys regular walks, sniff sessions, and time outside. Loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms can spook her, so a calm, secure environment during those moments is important.
Hershey has had a positive experience with children, including a gentle 9-year-old boy, and her affectionate nature makes her a great match for a home with respectful kids. She’s also made great progress with other dogs—she has a bouncy play style and may put her front paws on another dog to initiate play. Because of this, she’d do best either as the only pet (where she can soak up all the love!) or with a calm, tolerant dog who won’t mind her enthusiastic approach.
We don’t have any history with cats, so slow, supervised introductions—or a cat-free home—would be best for now.
Hershey is looking for a stable, loving home where she can continue to thrive, feel safe, and be someone’s loyal sidekick. She’s full of love, personality, and wiggles, and she’s more than ready to trade in her foster couch for a permanent one. If you're looking for a snuggly, playful, and devoted companion—Hershey is ready to be your best friend
