My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Diamond, 4.5 months (estimated DOB July 2025), female, Pitbull/Retriever mix, currently 17 pounds. We expect her to be a medium/large dog when full grown. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport once an adopter is approved.

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.

This adorable puppy was rescued after someone literally dumped in a park and drove away. We are so grateful one of our foster homes witnessed it happen and picked her up. She is thriving in her foster home!

Diamond is a playful, affectionate puppy who is eager to learn and full of love. She’s currently working on her potty training—doing well, but not fully there yet—so her future family should be ready to continue guiding her as she grows.

On leash, Diamond does okay for a young pup but still needs some practice to build confidence and consistency. She makes up for it with her happy energy and fun-loving personality. Playtime is her favorite time! She gets along wonderfully with larger dogs and pups her own size, and she plays with enthusiasm. Her excitement can come on a little strong for very young children—she just wants to shower them with nonstop kisses—so a home with dog-savvy kids may be the best fit.

She has been around small children and is a happy playful puppy. We have no history with cats.

Diamond is a superstar in her crate and will go in when asked. She’s a healthy eater and incredibly treat-motivated, which makes training easier and enjoyable. She’s also fantastic when meeting new people; she’s been out and about and handles new experiences beautifully for such a young dog.

Please note for a puppy this age, we require someone at home more than they are away. Puppies should be crated for unsupervised time and crating longer than 4 hours is not conducive for training and long term development. If you are outside of the home longer than 4/5 hours please indicate on the application who will be caring for her.

If you're looking for a bright, loving, energetic puppy who’s ready to learn and eager to bond, Diamond might be the perfect addition to your family. She’s ready to shine—are you ready to meet her?
