Meet Shrimp! – Sweet, Smart, and Full of Personality 🍤
● Generally happy, sweet little dog who bonds closely with his person
● A bit shy at first but warms up quickly — especially with treats
● Excellent listener and comes when called
● Crates well and is quiet
● Sleeps through the night and loves being close (bed and couch companion)
● Loves car rides and rides happily in a car seat
● Great potty manners — lets his foster know when he needs to go out (sometimes takes a bit to poop)
● Food-motivated foodie who eats enthusiastically and knows his meal routine
● Quickly learns household routines and expectations
● Enjoys walks in the neighborhood and at the park; walks well on a leash
● Shows mild interest in squirrels or bunnies but is easily redirected
● Learning basic commands like “sit”
● Loves affection and kisses, especially face licks
● Gets along with cats and has lived with dogs, but may lunge or growl at unfamiliar dogs on walks
● Nervous around men and strangers; improving with patience and positive reinforcement
● Will bark or growl at door knocks and new visitors but settles when managed calmly
● Quick movements can be scary for him
● Best suited for a home without small children
Medical:
● Tested positive for Heartworms and will be treated using the slow-kill method because he is too small for the standard injection treatment.
● Adopters should consult with their veterinarian upon adoption to continue and monitor his treatment plan.
Shrimp is a loyal, routine-loving little guy who thrives with structure, reassurance, and a calm home. With the right match, he’s an affectionate and devoted companion.
