My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Josh! 🐶
This adorable little guy is Josh, an 8-week-old male puppy whose breed mix is unknown at this time (we estimate he’ll grow to a small-to-medium size). Josh and his brother were sadly left in a box at a church, but now he’s safe in foster care with Texas Pit Crew in Wichita Falls, TX, and ready to find his forever family!
Personality & Playtime:
Josh is playful, curious, and a bit independent – the perfect mix of fun and chill! He has moderate energy and loves wrestling with his brother, playing with toys, and going crazy for treats (especially peanut butter flavored ones!). He’s the definition of adorable with his big round eyes, little pink freckle on his nose, and that classic puppy head tilt that will melt your heart. Josh quickly adapts to new surroundings, loves everyone he meets, and is easily happy – he can even entertain himself with toys no problem!
Training Progress:
For such a young pup, Josh is doing amazing! He’s learning house-training and doing very well, crate-trained with no issues when left alone (he uses a pee pad and toys in his kennel), and we’re working on leash training and the “sit” command – he’s picking it up quickly. Like many puppies, he loves to chew (watch those shoes!), but he’s adaptable and eager to learn.
Compatibility:
• Great with other dogs (plays well with puppies, hasn’t been around larger dogs yet)
• Good with cats
• No reaction to chickens or guinea pigs
• Wonderful with kids (has been around children as young as 5)
• Comfortable with men and women – he loves everyone!
Josh does great in car rides and has experience living in a home with other animals and kids. His daily routine is puppy-perfect: potty breaks, meals, playtime, and crate time while foster mom works. No known health issues, allergies, or special needs – he’ll get his full shots and microchip next week (too young to be neutered yet).
Ideal Home:
Josh would thrive in almost any loving home – house with yard, apartment (as long as potty breaks are frequent), active family, or cozy spot on the couch. He’s still a puppy, so some puppy knowledge is best (they’re a lot of work, but so worth it!). The only requirement? Lots of love!
Josh comes with a bag of his current food. Adoption fee: $165 + $75 deposit (refundable after neuter at 6 months).

The adoption process:

Step 1: Complete the Adoption Application. You can request an adoption application via email. Once complete the form can be emailed back for review. You can always pick a adoption application at any of our events.

Step 2: We will review completed applications, do reference and fence checks, as well as a home visit, if needed. Please remember that adopting a pup is making a commitment of 10-15 years, so we do not take any shortcuts in processing applications. It is our responsibility to place these pups in the very best homes we can possibly find for them.

Step 3: When your Adoption Application is approved, we will schedule a time for you to meet the pup that just might be the newest member of your family.

***Please remember that we are an all-volunteer, foster based rescue organization. We do not have a public shelter facility, so all meetings for potential adopters and fosters are done by appointment only. ***

Step 4: After the meeting, if everything seems to be a perfect match, the final step is the signing of the Adoption Contract, payment of the $165 adoption fee and $75 deposit, which makes it $240 (if the animal is not spayed or neutered yet), and taking your new family member home. You will get your deposit back when their 6 months old and altered.

Go meet their pets

We are an all-volunteer, foster based rescue organization. We do not have a public shelter facility, so most of our meet-and-greet are by appointments. You can also check out our calendar of events on our Facebook page, facebook.com/txpitcrew940, for other opportunities to meet our pups. Of course, we will always try to be as flexible as possible when scheduling meet-and-greets.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit volunteer ran organization dedicated to eradicating animal cruelty to all breeds in Wichita and surrounding counties. While we will help any animal in need that we can, we seek to promote the bully breed as the loving and loyal animals they are. All our animals are in private foster homes of caring volunteers. Our animals come to us under many different circumstances. They may be from an accidental or unwanted litter, the one abandoned at a shelter, the one that "got too big", the one sitting on the side of the road waiting for the owner, the one that escaped their chain, the irresponsible result of a breeder, the one left behind when the owners moved, or the one beat and left for dead. The list could go on. We hold adoption events throughout the year and during the colder months we hit the streets looking for neglected and/or dogs in need. We hand out cold weather supplies and educate owners about community resources that are available and proper dog ownership.
