My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bingus! 🖤🐾

Bingus is a 1-year-old, 36-pound Black Mouth Cur (BMC) mix with a sweet, friendly personality and plenty of love to give. This handsome boy is good with other dogs and would thrive in a home where he can socialize, play, and bond with his humans.

Bingus is affectionate, loyal, and eager to learn, making him a wonderful companion for a family ready to give him guidance, attention, and plenty of love.

🖤🐾 Bingus is ready to find his forever family—a caring, active home where he can feel safe, cherished, and adored every single day. Bring this sweet boy home and watch his joyful personality shine! ✨

You can view our available animals online or by visiting the shelter during regular business hours. Our knowledgeable and compassionate staff are here to guide you through the adoption process, which includes completing an application and having a conversation to ensure you’re fully informed and prepared to welcome a new pet into your home.

If you find an animal on our website that you’re interested in, we kindly ask that you visit the shelter to meet them in person before submitting your application. This helps ensure the best possible match for both you and the animal.

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
