My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This lovely little lady, almost 3 years old and weighing 19 pounds, came to us when her previous owner’s busy schedule meant they no longer had time to care for her. From her condition when she arrived, it’s likely she was used for breeding, and it seems she may not have always gotten the gentlest treatment. But despite her rough start, Kitsune is ready to leave the past behind and step into the spoiled, pampered life she deserves.

At first, Kitsune is shy around new people. She likes to hang back, take everything in, and figure out if she’s safe. But once she decides you’ve passed the test, she’ll reward you with total devotion. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly trail behind you everywhere you go, and when you finally sit down, she’ll climb into your lap, curl into a little ball, and drift off to sleep...and yes, pug snores included.

Kitsune has a calm, mellow nature and really just wants a quiet, steady home where she can feel secure. She doesn’t need constant excitement, what makes her happiest is simply being close to someone she trusts. With patience, she will absolutely thrive and show you just how sweet and loyal she can be. This shy girl has already proven she has so much love to give. Now all she needs is a home that will love her right back, forever. Could that home be yours? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
