My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chumba is a sweet, happy-go-lucky 2YO German Shepherd mix who came to the shelter with his brother, Wumba A051980. He’s a friendly, eager boy who’s clearly excited about the world - and especially about people! He loves attention. Chumba is easy to handle on leahs and loves getting out to walk around, sniff, and explore his surroundings.

This handsome guy shows his enthusiasm by jumping up for attention when he’s excited, so he’ll benefit from some basic manners training to help channel all that love. He takes treats gently from your hand, though he doesn’t seem to know any tricks yet - he`s a blank slate ready to learn!

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.

We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.

The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.

We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.

We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.
