Looking for a calm, easygoing companion to share lazy afternoons with? Meet Georgie, a big, gentle loaf of love who’s all about the simple pleasures in life. Georgie is an older, mellow boy who enjoys the quiet side of things. He loves short, slow walks where he can take his time sniffing every interesting spot, then head inside for some well-deserved couch time. Once he’s comfy, you’ll probably find him rolling around to get those perfect scratches — it’s one of his favorite hobbies! He walks beautifully on leash, is housetrained, and moves through life with a calm gentleness that makes him easy to adore.
Fun Fact: Georgie has perfected the art of the “half-sit,” where he can’t quite decide if he’s standing or relaxing — so he does both. Georgie is the perfect match for someone looking for a calm, affectionate best friend to share quiet moments and cozy naps. Come meet this gentle giant — your heart (and your couch) will thank you!
Adoption fees are currently waived! All pets are spay/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped!

More about this shelter
The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department’s mission is to protect and serve the pets and people of Albuquerque by providing Caregiving, Awareness, Resources, Enforcement and Service excellence.
AWD is always in need of foster homes for our pets who need time to grow, recovery from illness or injury or in need of a break from the shelter. Foster homes increase our capacity to provide services to homeless pets in our community. If you would like to donate toys, towels and milk-bones are always in need. Volunteer opportunities are also available at our shelters.
