My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ricky is a shy but sweet bunny who is settling in beautifully and gaining confidence each day. He’s eating well and enjoys a healthy rabbit diet of unlimited hay, daily greens (lettuce is a favourite!), and measured pellets. His litter box skills are improving, and with consistency and patience, he’ll continue to do well.

Ricky will thrive with a properly set-up indoor space, including an exercise pen or bunny-proofed room as his home base, plus plenty of daily free-roam time for exploration, movement, and enrichment. Tunnels, toys, and hidey spots help him feel secure while encouraging confidence.

Like all rabbits, Ricky needs a bunny-proofed home to keep him safe while he explores. With gentle handling, routine, and positive reinforcement (snacks help!), Ricky will make a rewarding companion for someone ready to let him blossom at his own pace.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
