My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fred is 29lbs of big puppy loveliness! And at only 5 months old, Fred is destined to be a large boy, so he has room to grow! Fred is very sweet, and very playful. He gets along well with other dogs his size, so if you have another dog, we always recommend bringing them along to meet. And of course he still needs work on training to be a good dog, so he`s looking for his forever person to be one who`s willing to teach him all of that! Freddy is ready to find his home; not just for the holidays, but for the rest of his life!

Fred is at our Cottonwood Mall location!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
