My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Kuma!

This large fluff ball is ready to make you swoon with his affectionate personality and hilarious antics! Kuma is a very sweet and affectionate guy, who sure loves to tell you exactly what he thinks. His fun awooo awooos are full of sass and fun, and you can almost tell exactly what he's thinking and feeling with them.

Kuma LOVES toys, and will gladly take all his best ones out to his yard to play with them like its the best thing in the world! He has a sister Sanna, that he also loves to play and wrestle with, and they'll each share an end of the toy in a fun game of tug. Kuma wouldn't mind going home with his sister Sanna, and has lived with her for a number of years, so is his go-to adventure pal!

Kuma loves walkies and adventures, and will be a great active guy for his new home. He also isn't opposed to laying in the yard; rain or shine, and snooze his slow afternoons away. He wants nothing more than to be around his people, and will lean into you for pets and push his bum into your for those world famous rubs.

This fella is seeking a home with NO cats, but would love another dog to keep him company. His adopter should expect the woo woos, and the fur that comes with these breeds, and be okay wearing Doggy Glitter!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
